In Mime/Movement for the Actor, we explore:
How can an Actor turn a character into the action of a play - physical!

Classes Taught by T. Daniel & Laurie Willets are given in an effort to improve Theatre

These classes are part of an on going project to improve the actor’s ability to be expressive through movement. We want to bring together Chicago Actors to improve acting for today’s theatre, film and streaming possibilities. We are looking toward the idea of theatre based on the moving actor.

Making a dream reality

If you are serious about acting and passionate about a career, then movement classes by T. Daniel & Laurie Willets can help you reach these goals. They will provide you with the tools to move on stage. To bring out your talent so you can reach your goals.

The technique behind a Movement

The ideas in this class are relatively easy to master but will make a world of difference in your acting ability. They will cover where to find the Character, creating an emotional state, keeping the character alive physically and vocally. This is always a challenge of the actor and we can help meet the challenge. The classes build on exercises, improvisations and movement techniques. They approach walking, character walks (Power in every step), being sad, happy and how two character can affect each other.

You have only one instrument: The Body.

Expressing the internal quality of a character so an audience can understand and appreciate the character is what these classes are all about. The series of classes explores how the body and voice are the prime means of communicate with an audience, how the body moves, how the body communicates and how movement creates a character.

Learn Movement and Character

Come along and learn about movement and character in this class if you wishing to learn more about your craft.  Helping to make the magic of theatre.

This is a very hands-on class with exercises to get the body and the mind to communicate. This not a conditioning class. This is acting with the entire body.

The class is open to everyone, with or without acting or movement experience – just register for the class and show up. Bring along some comfy clothes and either wear shoes, socks, or go barefoot.
